Collaboration

Our session on Monday on COLLABORATION started by us looking at what collaboration is and why it is important for entrepreneurs. We discussed that as entrepreneurs, creating ‘horizontal’ working relationships are crucial for the success of the business. The focus of collaboration from being something reactive, ‘solving a problem together’, was shifted towards something active and fun, ‘creating something that I would not have been able to create on my own’.

PEERPOWER’s concept of CREATIONSHIP was introduced - we looked at examples of what gets created out of particular relationships, and the opportunity that exists for businesses when they ‘creationship’ with each other. A well-cared network is an infinitely creative relationship – the VELOCITI participants started thinking about examples for possible ‘creationships’ they could go into with people around them.

We started discussing aspects that are important for collaboration (such as trust, shared values and clear agreements between the collaboration partners), and what to look out for in potential collaboration partners. In the ‘people management’ session next week, this will be deepened further.
