Our Projects

So far in 2010, CITi has initiated the following projects:

1. The CITi Cafe Conversations Project

This is a round table project, aimed at bringing key stakeholders from academia, government and industry together, to discuss issues of common concern. We kicked off the process with 8 round tables around the Cape Peninsula in February 2010, which revolved around a concept for the "Cape Software Factory." We plan to host more during the course of 2010.

2. The Cape Software Engineering Colloquium Project

CITi and the IEEE convened the Third Software Engineering Colloquium (SE10) on 16 March 2010. However, we view the colloquium as an ongoing process, and action points were identified out of the Colloquium that we are continuing to monitor and in some cases, drive. Find out more

3. The Cape Software Showcase Project

This is a project initiated out of SE10. We kicked it off with an exhibition that ran concurrently with the 32nd International Conference on Software Engineering, held in Cape Town from 5 - 7 May 2010. Find out more

4. The IT Heroes & Pioneers Project

This project was launched at SE10. It is a project to grow the pipeline of kids and students choosing careers in the software and technology industry - both as workers and as entrepreneurs.

5. Project to investigate PSP/TSP's suitability for the Western Cape

Cape Town and the Western Cape develops high quality, bold, “out of the box” software. Our challenge is, how do we “prove” to the world and potential clients that this is the case? Read more about the investigation of PSP/TSP as a potential solution.
