The Cape Software Showcase Project
The Cape Software Showcase is a project that originated out of the Third Software Engineering Colloquium. It's key aims and objectives are:
1. To showcase successful Cape software and ICT businesses and highlight the strengths of the Western Cape as a software development hub
2. To showcase successful Cape entrepreneurs and innovations
Our first initiative was an exhibition held in the Ballroom West of the CTICC from 5 - 7 May 2010, concurrently with the 32nd International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE2010).
The exhibition was very well received by the 700+ visiting international software engineers and academics.
As the conference delegates would only visit the exhibition at tea and lunchtimes, we also invited local students and school learners to the exhibition, in the hope that we could inspire them to become IT entrepreneurs and/or to choose a career in the software industry.
