Previously founder of Cape Venture Partners (2004-2007); and before that Business Unit Manager – I-Commerce Software Solutions at Dimension Data; and Manager Strategic Planning Southern Africa for Siemens.

Motivation for standing:

The ICT community has the potential to be one of the key economic drivers for the Western Cape. ICT touches everyone – it is a key enabler for any industry sector and has a diverse range of stakeholders that need to be aligned: Entrepreneurs, Corporates, the Funding community, the research community, education institutions, government and regulators to name a few.
Over the last six years I have been involved with all these stakeholder entities, be it through my involvement with CITI or my own professional exposure. With Cape Town’s vision to become the design and innovation capital of (South) Africa, people are required to combine the enthusiasm of networks such as Silicon Cape or Netprophet with dedicated implementers who can represent the broader ICT industry at local, national and international level. As the formal “voice” of the Western Cape ICT sector CITI has been and will continue to play this role.
I am passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation and will continue to support these areas by offering mentorship, funding advice and through my active involvement with organizations such as CITI, the BandwidthBarn and Silicon Cape. I believe in the potential of the sector and would be pleased to continue serving on the Board of CITI to see the hard work of the previous years come to fruition and the ICT sector in the Western Cape gain international recognition.
